 FOOTPRINT
 IoT Application

Inspired to combine our common interests in IoT, my HackMIT teammates and I, created a simple, but unique appliance code that could improve IoT integration at home. A low power application that can accurately identify a home member based upon the sound of their footsteps. Using ConvNets via pyAudioAnalysis, FootPrint was able to correctly label 3 people just by listening to them walk.

Shark OS

A Linux based Operating System, sporting an inbuilt file system, and capable of multitasking through multiple terminals. It was developed in C and inline x86 assembly. Technical features also include reading and writing using inodes, core system calls, round robin scheduling. Also implemented some cool extra extra functionality by installing keyboard, mouse, RTC, PIT and sound drivers, in addition to, a fun splash-screen.

 MEDIMINDER
 Android Application
In this fast moving world, there arise situations when the elderly are either abandoned or forgotten about. This app reminds its user to take the assigned medicine as prescribed in the doctor's prognosis. If the user misses to take a medicine, an emergency contact is immediately notified through SMS. This app can also help in searching nearby chemists to purchase new medicines when the old ones expire!

PROXIPOLE

Created during HackIllinois, the ProxiPole uses ultrasonic proximity sensing to detect the environment around a blind user. This allows the user to be alerted of possible obstacles in their path, by audio output and vibration. This device comes with a panic button for dire situations. Whenever the user finds himself/ herself in a completely new and unknown surrounding, the panic button sounds an emergency alarm. This would allow the bystanders to possibly assist and guide the user.

ECOILLINI

The Illini EcoConcept is dedicated to designing and fabricating energy efficient vehicles for the Shell Eco-marathon Urban Concept competition. My team is responsible for controlling all the electronic circuitry inside the car right from the hardware programming to headlight signals and turn indicators. We have won several awards at the Eco Marathons organised by Shell.
 PAPYRUS
 Android Application
Did you know? More than 100 million trees and over 28 billion gallons of water are used in creating junk mails, that nobody even looks at. Conceived and created at BigRed//Hacks, this one touch Android app rids paper mailers by searching sender’s info (email, name, address), using OCR and auto-sends an email to the spam mailer. It uses the computer vision API from the Microsoft Cognitive Services to aid character recognition.

MORSI

My first exposure to playing with an Arduino Uno at HackPrinceton led me to create this simple yet useful project. It helps in generating Morse Code based on any string a user has entered. It does so both by producing audio beeps and visual light ups with a perfectly aligned frequency.
